Virion ESRs biannual meeting (08-09 Mar 2018)

VIRION-ESRs and their PIs reunite once again. The biannual meeting took place in Helsinki this time, organized by Ioanna Milenova and Joao Manuel Santos. During the days everyone shared their results, ideas and challenges for the past half year since last meeting in September 2017.

The first day of the consortium was dedicated to presentations of the ESRs and the meeting of the PIs. Ioanna and Joao prepared a bio business workshop with excellent speakers Juha Kleftstrom, Kees Groen and Mona Osterlund. As part of the outreach program to the society, Akseli Hemminki hosted a Q&A session that was also filmed and was uploaded on YouTube, and can be viewed below. The successful meeting was celebrated with a short sightseeing walk around the city center of Helsinki, followed by a dinner in a local restaurant, where we were able to try traditional Finnish meals. Next meeting will be held in the autumn in Amsterdam, when Joao Manuel Santos and Victor Cervera-Carrascon will be starting their secondments in Amstedam, the Netherlands.
